2. Types of Data Available

Kaosly may retain the following categories of user data:

  • Account Information: Display name, email address, profile photo, date of account creation, login history.
  • Content Data: Posts, comments, media files (photos, videos, audio), messages, and stories published by a user.
  • Usage Data: IP address logs, device information, timestamps of activity, and interaction data.
  • Financial Data: Billing information related to boost campaigns or premium subscriptions (if applicable).

3. Legal Process Requirements

3.1 Subpoena

A valid subpoena may compel us to disclose basic subscriber information, including name, email address, account creation date, and recent login IP addresses.

3.2 Court Order

A court order under applicable statutory provisions (e.g., 18 U.S.C. § 2703(d)) may compel us to disclose additional records, such as message headers, IP logs, and interaction metadata.

3.3 Search Warrant

A valid search warrant issued by a court of competent jurisdiction is required for Kaosly to disclose the contents of communications, including direct messages, unpublished drafts, and uploaded media.

4. Emergency Disclosure Requests

In accordance with applicable law, Kaosly may voluntarily disclose information to law enforcement (without a court order, subpoena, or warrant) when we believe in good faith that an emergency involving danger of death or serious physical injury requires immediate disclosure.

Emergency requests should be submitted via email to contact@kaosly.com with the subject line “Emergency Disclosure Request” and must include:

  • The nature of the emergency
  • The account(s) of interest (username, UID, email)
  • The specific data requested
  • The requesting officer’s name, badge number, and agency
  • A direct callback number

5. Preservation Requests

Kaosly will preserve a snapshot of account records for 90 days upon receipt of a valid preservation request. To extend the preservation period, a new request must be submitted before the original expires.

Submit preservation requests to contact@kaosly.com.

6. User Notification

Kaosly’s policy is to notify users of requests for their information prior to disclosure unless we are legally prohibited from doing so (e.g., under 18 U.S.C. § 2705(b)), or in cases involving child exploitation, emergency situations, or where notice would be counterproductive.

7. Cost Reimbursement

Kaosly may seek reimbursement for costs associated with the production of records in response to legal process, as permitted by law.

8. International Requests

Kaosly cooperates with international law enforcement in accordance with applicable treaties and Mutual Legal Assistance Treaties (MLATs). International requests must be submitted through appropriate legal channels.
