Community Guidelines

Kaosly is built for creative expression and community. To keep our platform safe, inclusive, and enjoyable for everyone, we've established these Community Guidelines. These guidelines apply to all content and behavior on the platform, including posts, stories, reels, comments, messages, live streams, branching stories, communities, and any other features.

Violations of these guidelines may result in content removal, account restrictions, or permanent suspension. We use a combination of automated systems (including AI moderation) and human review to enforce these guidelines.

1. Safety

1.1 Violence and Threats

  • Do not post content that threatens, incites, glorifies, or expresses desire for violence against individuals or groups.
  • Do not share graphic violence or gore intended to shock or disturb.
  • Content depicting violence may be allowed in educational, newsworthy, or artistic contexts with appropriate warnings.

1.2 Harassment and Bullying

  • Do not engage in targeted harassment, intimidation, or bullying of any individual.
  • Do not create content that degrades, shames, or humiliates private individuals.
  • Do not share another person's private information (doxxing), including addresses, phone numbers, or financial information.
  • Do not coordinate attacks or pile-ons against specific individuals.

1.3 Self-Harm and Suicide

  • Do not promote, glorify, or provide instructions for self-harm or suicide.
  • If you or someone you know is struggling, please reach out to local emergency services or crisis helplines.
  • Content that shares personal experiences with mental health in a recovery or awareness context may be allowed with appropriate content warnings.

1.4 Dangerous Organizations and Individuals

  • Do not use the platform to promote terrorism, organized crime, or hate groups.
  • Do not glorify, support, or represent dangerous organizations.
  • Educational, documentary, and news content about these topics may be permitted with context.

2. Hate Speech

  • Do not post content that attacks, demeans, or incites hatred or discrimination against individuals or groups based on race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, caste, sexual orientation, gender identity, disability, or serious medical condition.
  • Slurs, dehumanizing language, and harmful stereotypes are prohibited.
  • Humor, satire, or commentary that targets protected groups in a hateful manner is not permitted.

3. Sexual Content and Nudity

  • Do not post sexually explicit content or pornography.
  • Do not share non-consensual intimate images (revenge porn).
  • Any sexual content involving minors is strictly prohibited and will be reported to relevant authorities (NCMEC).
  • Nudity in artistic, educational, or health-related contexts may be permitted if clearly labeled.
  • Sexually suggestive content involving minors is absolutely prohibited regardless of context.

4. Integrity and Authenticity

4.1 Impersonation

  • Do not impersonate other individuals, brands, or organizations in a misleading manner.
  • Parody, fan, and commentary accounts are permitted if they clearly indicate they are not the official account.

4.2 Misinformation

  • Do not share false or misleading content that could cause real-world harm, including misinformation about health, safety, elections, or civic processes.
  • Clearly labeled satire and humor are permitted.

4.3 Spam and Manipulation

  • Do not use bots, fake accounts, or automated tools to artificially inflate engagement (likes, followers, views, comments).
  • Do not engage in coordinated inauthentic behavior or platform manipulation.
  • Do not post repetitive, misleading, or unsolicited commercial content (spam).
  • Do not use misleading captions, thumbnails, or tags to trick users into viewing content.

5. Intellectual Property

  • Do not post content that infringes on the intellectual property rights of others, including copyright, trademark, and patent rights.
  • Give proper credit when sharing or referencing others' work.
  • If you believe your intellectual property has been infringed, please use our DMCA/Copyright reporting process.
  • Repeated intellectual property violations may result in account termination.

6. Regulated Goods and Activities

  • Do not use the platform to sell, promote, or facilitate the sale of illegal drugs, weapons, counterfeit goods, or other regulated items.
  • Do not promote illegal gambling or unauthorized financial services.
  • Do not sell or promote tobacco, vaping, or alcohol products to minors.

7. Privacy

  • Respect the privacy of others. Do not share personal or confidential information about others without their consent.
  • Do not record or share private conversations or interactions without consent.
  • Do not collect, store, or share other users' data for unauthorized purposes.

8. Communities (Voids)

  • Community creators and moderators are responsible for maintaining their community standards in addition to these platform-wide guidelines.
  • Communities may not be created for the purpose of circumventing these guidelines.
  • Communities that consistently host content that violates these guidelines may be removed.

9. Live Streaming

  • All Community Guidelines apply to live streams in real-time.
  • Do not use live streaming to broadcast dangerous activities, illegal behavior, or content that violates these guidelines.
  • Do not direct viewers to engage in harassment, hate speech, or other violations.
  • Hosts are responsible for moderating their live stream chat.

10. Enforcement

We enforce these guidelines through a combination of:

  • Automated Detection: AI-powered systems scan content for policy violations.
  • User Reports: Community members can report violations through the platform.
  • Human Review: Our moderation team reviews flagged content and appeals.

10.1 Consequences

Violations may result in:

  • Content Removal: The violating content is removed from the platform.
  • Content Warning: Sensitive content may be hidden behind a warning screen.
  • Account Warning: A notification informing you of the violation.
  • Temporary Restriction: Temporary limits on your ability to post, comment, or use certain features.
  • Account Suspension: Temporary or permanent suspension of your account.
  • Legal Reporting: In cases involving illegal activity (especially CSAM), we will report to relevant authorities.

10.2 Appeals

If you believe your content was removed or your account was restricted in error, you may submit an appeal through the notification you receive about the action. Appeals are reviewed by a different moderator than the one who made the original decision.

11. Reporting Violations

If you see content or behavior that violates these guidelines, please report it using the in-app reporting tools (available on every post, comment, message, and profile). For urgent safety concerns, please contact local law enforcement in addition to reporting on the platform.

12. Changes to These Guidelines

We may update these Community Guidelines from time to time to reflect changes in our platform, community needs, and legal requirements. We will notify users of significant changes through in-app notifications or email.
