Accessibility Statement

Last updated: April 8, 2026

Kaosly is committed to ensuring that our platform is accessible to all users, including those with disabilities. We continuously work to improve the accessibility of our platform in line with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA.

1. Our Commitment

We strive to ensure that Kaosly is:

  • Perceivable: Information and user interface components are presentable to users in ways they can perceive.
  • Operable: User interface components and navigation are operable by all users.
  • Understandable: Information and the operation of the user interface are understandable.
  • Robust: Content is robust enough to be interpreted by a wide variety of user agents, including assistive technologies.

2. Accessibility Features

Kaosly currently implements the following accessibility features:

2.1 Visual Accessibility

  • Dark Mode / Light Mode: Full support for both display modes to accommodate visual preferences and light sensitivity.
  • Sufficient Color Contrast: Text and interactive elements meet WCAG 2.1 AA contrast ratios.
  • Resizable Text: Content scales appropriately with browser zoom (up to 200%).
  • Alt Text: Images uploaded to the platform support alt text descriptions.

2.2 Motor Accessibility

  • Keyboard Navigation: Core features are accessible via keyboard, including post creation, navigation, and feed browsing.
  • Touch Targets: Interactive elements meet minimum touch target sizes (44x44 CSS pixels).
  • No Time-Limited Actions: Critical interactions do not require time-sensitive responses.

2.3 Cognitive Accessibility

  • Consistent Navigation: Navigation patterns remain consistent across pages.
  • Clear Labels: Form inputs and buttons use descriptive labels.
  • Error Prevention: Destructive actions (account deletion, post deletion) require confirmation.

2.4 Auditory Accessibility

  • Captions: We encourage creators to add captions to video and reel content.
  • Visual Indicators: Audio-only notifications are supplemented with visual indicators.

3. Known Limitations

While we strive for full compliance, we acknowledge the following current limitations:

  • User-generated content (images, videos) may not always include alt text or captions.
  • Some third-party embeds and integrations may have limited accessibility support.
  • Complex interactive features (reel editor, audio trimmer) may have reduced screen reader support.
  • Live/dynamic content updates may not always be immediately announced to screen readers.

4. Assistive Technology Support

Kaosly is designed to be compatible with the following assistive technologies:

  • Screen readers: NVDA, JAWS, VoiceOver, TalkBack
  • Screen magnification software
  • Alternative input devices (switch access, voice control)
  • Browser accessibility extensions

5. Continuous Improvement

Our accessibility improvement roadmap includes:

  • Automated accessibility testing in our CI/CD pipeline
  • Regular manual audits with assistive technology users
  • AI-powered automatic alt text generation for uploaded images
  • Automatic caption generation for video content
  • Improved ARIA labels and landmark regions across the platform
