Kaosly respects intellectual property rights and expects its users to do the same. This policy outlines how we handle intellectual property matters on our platform, including copyrights, trademarks, and other proprietary rights.
1. Copyright Policy
1.1 Your Rights
When you create and share original content on Kaosly, you retain ownership of your intellectual property rights. By posting content, you grant Kaosly a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide license to use, display, reproduce, and distribute your content on the platform, as described in our Terms of Service.
1.2 Respecting Others’ Rights
You may not upload, post, or share content that:
- Infringes on another person’s copyright
- Uses another creator’s content without proper authorization or licensing
- Circumvents or removes copyright management information
- Reproduces significant portions of copyrighted works without fair use justification
1.3 DMCA Compliance

1.4 Repeat Infringer Policy
Kaosly maintains a repeat infringer policy. Accounts that are the subject of three or more valid copyright infringement claims may be permanently suspended. Each infringement “strike” remains active for 12 months.
2. Trademark Policy
2.1 Trademark Infringement
Kaosly prohibits the use of trademarks in a manner that is likely to cause confusion about the source or affiliation of content. This includes:
- Using another entity’s trademark as your username or display name in a misleading way
- Creating content that falsely suggests affiliation with, endorsement by, or sponsorship from a brand
- Using logos or brand assets without authorization
2.2 Trademark Reports
If you believe your trademark is being infringed on Kaosly, please submit a report tocontact@kaosly.com with:
- Your identity and contact information
- Trademark registration details (registration number, jurisdiction)
- Description of the infringing content with links
- An explanation of how the use creates a likelihood of confusion
- A good-faith statement under penalty of perjury
2.3 Parody and Commentary
Kaosly recognizes the legitimate use of trademarks in parody, commentary, criticism, and news reporting. Such uses are generally protected under fair use principles, provided they do not create a likelihood of consumer confusion.
3. Music & Audio Rights
3.1 Original Audio
Audio content uploaded to Kaosly’s Tunes feature must be original or properly licensed. You represent that you have all necessary rights, licenses, and permissions for any audio you upload.
3.2 Licensed Audio Library
Audio tracks available through Kaosly’s built-in library are licensed for use on the platform. These tracks may be used in posts and reels created on Kaosly but may not be downloaded, ripped, or used outside the platform without separate licensing.
3.3 Third-Party Music
Using copyrighted music in your posts without proper licensing may result in content removal. If you receive a copyright claim on your audio content, you may:
- Remove the audio and replace it with a licensed alternative
- File a counter-notice if you believe the claim is erroneous
- Provide proof of licensing
4. Content Attribution
Kaosly encourages proper attribution of content. When sharing or remixing content from other creators, best practices include:
- Crediting the original creator by tagging their profile
- Using the platform’s built-in repost feature (which automatically attributes)
- Obtaining permission before substantially modifying another creator’s work
