Data Portability & Download Your Data

Kaosly believes you should have control over your data. In compliance with GDPR (Article 20), CCPA/CPRA, and other applicable privacy regulations, you have the right to receive a copy of your personal data in a structured, commonly used, and machine-readable format.
1. Your Right to Data Portability
You have the right to:
- Request a copy of all personal data we hold about you.
- Receive your data in a portable format (JSON/ZIP).
- Transfer your data to another service provider.
2. What Data Is Included
Your data download will include the following categories:
2.1 Account Information
- Display name, username, and bio
- Email address and phone number
- Profile photo and banner image
- Account creation date
- Account settings and preferences
2.2 Content You’ve Created
- All posts (text, images, videos)
- Reels and stories
- Audio tracks and tunes
- Comments you’ve made
- Captions, hashtags, and metadata
2.3 Social Connections
- Follower list
- Following list
- Blocked accounts
- Muted accounts
- Close friends / lists
2.4 Interactions
- Likes and reactions
- Saved posts
- Search history
2.5 Messages
- Direct message conversations
- Group chat messages
- Shared media within messages
2.6 Activity Logs
- Login history (IP addresses, dates, devices)
- Notification settings
3. How to Request Your Data
3.1 In-App
- Go to Settings → Privacy → Download Your Data
- Select the data categories you want to include
- Choose your preferred format (JSON or HTML)
- Tap “Request Download”
- You will receive a notification when your data is ready (typically within 48 hours)
3.2 By Email
You may also request your data by emailing contact@kaosly.com with the subject line “Data Download Request”. Please include your username and the email address associated with your account for identity verification.
4. Data Format
Your data will be delivered as a ZIP archive containing:
- JSON files — Machine-readable structured data
- Media folder — Your images, videos, and audio files
- index.html — A browsable summary of your data
5. Processing Time
- Standard requests: Within 48 hours
- Large accounts: Up to 14 days for accounts with extensive media content
- Regulatory requests (GDPR/CCPA): Within 30 days as required by law
6. Data Security
Your download will be:
- Available for 7 days after generation, then automatically deleted
- Protected by a secure, time-limited download link
- Accessible only from your authenticated account
7. Data Deletion
If you wish to delete your data rather than download it, please refer to ourPrivacy Policy for information about your right to erasure. You can delete your account and all associated data through Settings → Account → Delete Account.
